Delete your data
You don’t have to close your Pimble account to remove something. You can delete individual photos and clips, and edit your bio and interests, whenever you like. Want to see what we keep first? Download all of it.
In the app
The app is in Dutch; the button names are shown as they appear, with a translation.
Remove a photo or clip
- Tap your own photo at the bottom (the Jij tab, “You”).
- Tap Profiel bewerken (Edit profile).
- Tap the cross on the photo (Foto verwijderen, Delete photo) or on your video (Video verwijderen, Delete video).
- Tap Opslaan (Save). The file is then gone from our server immediately.
Edit your bio or interests
- Open Profiel bewerken the same way.
- Change or clear your bio under Over jou (About you), and switch interests on or off under Interesses.
- Tap Opslaan. We don’t keep the old text.
Others only see your profile if it has at least one approved photo. If you remove all your photos, nobody sees you until you add a new one and it has been reviewed.
Download your data
In the app: Instellingen → Mijn gegevens downloaden (Download my data). You get a JSON file with everything Pimble keeps about you: your account, profile, choices, conversations, reports and more.
Other data
- A conversation: if you end the friendship or block someone, the conversation disappears for both of you. ‘Clear conversation’ only hides it for you.
- Last online and read receipts: turn them off under Instellingen → Privacy en gegevens.
- Your location: withdraw the permission in Android’s app settings.
- Everything at once: delete your account.
On the website
Download and remove
Sign in with the Google account you use for Pimble. Then you can download your data and remove your photos and clips one by one.
Can’t sign in with Google in this browser? Use the app instead, or email us (see the privacy policy).
We never create an account here. Your session only lives in this page’s memory, and we sign you out afterwards.
Download your data
Everything Pimble keeps about you, as a JSON file.
Your photos and clips
Removing is immediate and permanent. There’s no recycle bin.
You edit your bio and interests in the app. Want your whole account gone? Go to delete account.
You’ve been signed out.
What happens when you remove something
- Photos and clips disappear from our server immediately: the file, any thumbnail and the blurred version for ‘See who already chose you’. A link someone received earlier stops working immediately.
- A deleted file may remain in a backup for at most 7 days. After that the backup has been overwritten.
- Your bio and interests are overwritten. We don’t keep old versions.
- What you remove is no longer in your next download.
